Matredo is a service operated by Pindrop AB ("we", "us"). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

Account information: email, display name, and household membership.
Content you create: recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists.
Photos you take or select for recipes (camera and photo library access).
Usage analytics: page views and feature usage via PostHog and Google Analytics (only if you consent).
Crash reports and error diagnostics via Sentry, without personal data.

Why we collect it

To provide and improve the service, delivering your recipes, plans, and lists.
To understand how the app is used so we can make it better.

Data processing

Analytics are processed by PostHog Cloud EU (Frankfurt, Germany) and Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited). Error diagnostics are processed by Sentry (Frankfurt, Germany). Your account and content data is stored on servers in the EU.

AI-powered features

Matredo uses AI to parse recipes from URLs, text, and photos, normalize ingredients and shopping list items, and power the Sous Chef chat assistant. When you use these features, the following data may be sent to our AI providers: recipe text, ingredient lists, cookbook photos, and chat messages.

Our current providers are Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini). Under their paid API data-processing terms, your data is not used to train their models. Both providers offer protection of your data equal to or greater than what we provide.

Data retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. Analytics data is retained for 12 months. You can request deletion at any time.

Cookies & local storage

We use localStorage for authentication and app preferences (essential). PostHog uses localStorage for analytics tracking (non-essential, requires your consent). Google Analytics uses cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for analytics (non-essential, requires your consent).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing your browser data. Contact us at privacy@matredo.se.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw analytics consent by clearing your browser's localStorage and cookies for this site. PostHog and Google Analytics will stop tracking immediately.
